About book Le Temps D'un Battement De Coeur (2014)
This is the third book in Sheryl Woods Ocean Breeze series. I definitely enjoyed this book more than the first two. As usual, Cora Jane is meddling in one of her grand daughter's love lives, but this time the other two sisters are involved as well. The target this time is Samantha and they're trying to hook her up with her high school crush, Ethan Cole. Ethan is a local doctor who is not interested in getting involved in a relationship. He is a veteran with a prosthetic leg and focused on protecting his heart due to a bad break-up with his fiance.Samantha is open to getting involved with Ethan, but not the way her grandmother and sisters keep 'conveniently' throwing them together in different situations. I didn't like Emily's bridezilla-esque personality in this book at all. What I think I did enjoy the most is that Samantha is a very strong, independent person and tried not to let anything get her down. Ethan could've been a little more open to getting involved with Samantha and less skittish about women in general. Again, a 3.5 that could be a 4 except for the repeating.The final book in the trilogy sews everyone's life up with the focus on Samantha. During the last book we read how she was contemplating leaving the acting profession. She has a diving appointment with her old high school drama coach and the current drama class that sets the course for her future career...a private acting teacher/coach. Samantha shares this with Gabi and her PR gift kicks in with a powerful suggestion to also open a playhouse...Dad comes forward with property he owns with a house that needs renovation which is perfect for her. I guess some could say this trilogy is corny and unrealistic...but isn't that what we all need = an escape from the harshness of reality with a reboot to our own hope for a better life ahead???? YUPAs usual, Grandma Cora Jane, along with her 2 sisters, begin matchmaking for Samantha. Ethan is a doctor as well as a war veteran who lost his lower leg in Afghanistan, followed by his fiance who could not view him as a whole man anymore = good riddance bad seed! However, Ethan did not view it that way and he has sworn off relationships. the Castle crew has their work cut out for them. After much exciting and entertaining drama...cue in wedding march...Ethan and Samantha get married on the beach as a hurricane is fast approaching - at least she had kind of her dream wedding :-)In sewing up the series, Cora finally agrees to marry Jerry, but after all the girls are married. Emily and Boone marry, Gabi and Wade marry at the justice of the peace...so we know we have a happy ending for all.Good series.
