We left Katie in the last book "Saving Grace" with a house, and a new boyfriend, and some riddles solved, but in this second book in the series "Leaving Annalise", author Pamela Fagan Hutchins amps up the action (as if that were possible).First, something is up with the boyfriend. His friends are unfriendly. He is starting to become obnoxious and Katie is having second thoughts about this one.Second, the one person she never expected to see again shows up, with a small child. He wants back in her life and she wants him back in her life. Then things start to happen fast. The child's jail-bait father wants the child back, the ex-boyfriend is getting ugly about the breakup, and weird things are happening in that "jumbie" house.Spoiler alert: There is some hot sex. I refuse to say what page to turn to, though it would be easy since my copy falls open at that section.I purchased this book at a writing conference. The second book of the series and I couldn't wait to dive into it. And I wasn't disappointed. Great story line! Katie is just getting her life together and her jumbie house finished and she thinks she knows what her new life is all about, when a new turn of events totally throw her life upside down. She has to re-evaluate her life and her goals and what is important all over again. Annalise is not happy with the new situations facing them both but she does not let Katie down! Awesome book! Totally awesome! Can't wait to get into the 3rd of the series!
