About book Les Images Du Passé (2012)

Read by Stina Nielsen. Author's 27th novel. Serena Stone is a 30 year old photojournalist. She has been on the frontline in the Middleeast for years making a name for herself, as did her father. Her father dies. she has older twin sisters. They live in Venice. Mother has already passed 4 years earlier. Serena is writing a biography of her father including some of his best works. She has a photographic memory, yet she cannot remember a huge fight with her mother, whom she adored. She discovers pictures of a pregnant woman, not her mother, among her father's things. The name Serena is labelled on the back! That's a mystery. Her father's dearest friend, Harry, denies knowing who she is. Serena knows that she is a photojournalist and that she did go to the unrest in Lybia. So many things we are brought up believing. However, our trusted parents and caretakers, often "protect" us from truths so as not to hurt us. Eventually, all is revealed and after the shock and pain, things do make more sense. It showed little understanding of PTSD which greatly annoyed me because BTB should have researched it properly before using it in her book. The whole love covers a multitude of sins could be an argument for lies and dishonesty but the character Pidge/Serena does not come across as real with normal human emotions. To call it a desperate quest to uncover a story from decades earlier is laughable and frankly incorrect.

Do You like book Les Images Du Passé (2012)?

This book was trite and shallow but I read it to the end. That's something to ponder, isn't it?
