About book Loving (2012)

This book was a great wrap-up to the series, with everything culminating in one of the sweetest wedding scenes I've ever had the pleasure of reading. It definitely indulges the wishful thinking of just about every Christian young woman looking for love, but I think girls will realize that love this flawless is, in fact, so rare that it's almost never found. The conflicts in this book are quite believable in the beginning, but by the time we reach the end of the book, we've gone back into Karen Kingsbury's fantasy land of impossibly perfect lives free of problems. A good book if you're looking to escape the real world for awhile, but it will leave you wishing the world was more like it is in Karen Kingsbury's world of fiction. This book was a great ending for the Bailey Flanigan series. I felt and wished that my life was like Bailey's - this had such a fairy tale ending. (My life is in that I have a husband who is truly devoted to making my life easier and loving me no matter what.) I loved all the great ideas that Brandon had for dates to see Bailey. Of course having lots of money made it easy to implement all those ideas into special moments - being at the Empire State Building, the prom he staged on the rooftop of Bailey's home in New York City, the special places in Bloomington (i.e. the Lake), and all the times he just gets on a plane to come see her - how romantic would that be. This series had so many twists and turns - first I thought Bailey would marry Cody, then no, it was Brandon, then something else would happen and I would think she marries Cody. There were definitely many different shifts in the books to keep you guessing and reading to the end.Loved the advice from the scriptures that everyone shared at the bridal shower - good thoughts for anyone, especially about forgiveness. We all make mistakes but it takes a good person that can forgive and not hold ill feelings towards another person. I really liked the way the author brought the scriptures to life and also it reinforced how we need to listen to what God is trying to show us and sometimes that takes patience, lots of it :)I look forward to reading more books from this author. She makes the stories come to life and I have a good feeling deep down when I read her books.
