About book Loving A Lost Lord (2009)

I’m torn on my opinion of Not Quite a Wife by Mary Jo Putney. I love the fact that Laurel is involved with a women’s shelter as well as a clinic. Through her work, the story brought attention to several women’s issues and showed that deep down Laurel is a giving and caring person. I also fell in love with James for his patience and understanding when his wife leaves him for killing a man, even though his actions were in self-defense.But for all of her good traits, Lauren was also pious. Her religious beliefs gave her the right to judge her husband’s actions and I felt she gave up on the marriage before it had a chance to get through the rough patch. It was easier to live separate lives than to honor her vows. Of course, young imperfect characters make perfect redemptions! And why did James wait ten long years? As an employee of the war office, I would have expected him to take charge and not leave their marriage in the hands of ‘chance’. I will, though, give him points for taking the lead in putting their marriage back together when the opportunity arose, as Laurel seemed to be looking for any excuse possible to give up again. This book is #6 in the Lost Lord’s series. Although it can definitely be read as a stand-alone book, those who have read the previous releases will enjoy the multiple updates regarding previous characters. (For me, that’s a wonderful perk of a series)Overall, I love reunion stories. This was an easy read and although I didn’t agree with all of the hero and heroine’s actions, Miss Putney’s stories always hold rich and wonderful characters, unexpected story turns, and a Happily Ever After! I’m looking forward to going back and reading books #1-#5. Hopefully I can get those in before #7 comes out. This book is crazy-pants romance novel crack.Elements for romance novel crack include:amnesiahalf-gypsy grandmotheran imaginary friendmagicdumb-ass bad guys who need to go back to bad guy schoolnot just a duke, a half-Hindu, richest of the richest dukefamily drama that lasted 20 years wrapped up in a 5 minute conversationa dead body that didn't slow down the partyI loved it and I want to read Mary Jo Putney's entire back list. I just don't see how she could top this one. I laughed out loud throughout this book. The only thing she missed was a women dressing up in boy's clothes, possibly getting caught kissing at a ball and a gay valet. Oh wait, there totally was a gay valet.

Do You like book Loving A Lost Lord (2009)?

Quite cliché, nothing too remarking, but I really enjoyed it, for some reason. :)
