About book Magic On The Hunt (2011)

Enjoyed this one a bit more, as it seems like Allie is finally starting to gain some maturity. She's understanding of what Zay's going thru - Even the parts she doesn't agree with. She's learning to work a bit better with her father.. and while she doesn't trust him (and shouldn't) she's at least acknowledging that in some ways, and some situations he might be better equipped to handle things than her. And that he is capable of feeling intense emotions, even if she doesn't believe he has any for her. It's good that she'd growing up, because alot is going on this book. Escapes from magical prisons, Sedra to rescue, dealing with the loss of her small magic... Jingo Jingo popping back on the scene. Fortunately she and Zay are back in harmony, Shame and Terric are getting along... and Stone pops in to keep things entertaining. A nasty enemy is lost in Portland and targets a magical prison. Allie and the gang ride to the rescue but nothing is as it seems. Surprises abound, magical battles flare and bits and pieces of the overarching story are revealed. Power plays are made and trials are held. Lots of things happen to move the main story along nicely.I do like this series and it's mostly the characters and what they endure that hooks me. Still love Shame and Terric. There are tidbits about Allie that are humanizing. She suffers from claustrophobia and absolutely HATES elevators. Zay grunted once. "It really is hell, isn't it?""What?" I gritted."This...claustrophobia.""Stop breathing all the air."Allie didn't participate in battles much last time but this time, she's a fast learner and she's wading into the fray...I will point out that Allie does NOT say "don't tell me what to do" or "I can take care of myself" in this outing. A very welcomed reprieve!
