About book Mercury Rises (2011)

Although not quite as crazy fun as the first book, this was another good read. Mercury was his weird non-sequitur self again, but didn't get as much page-time as before. The story jumps around a bit between different places, times, and groups of people, which is a little off-putting and confusing sometimes. I did appreciate the more serious look at the idea of the different planes of reality and all the technical talk of interplanar energies made it sound more believable. All in all, another fun almost-apocalypse book and it leaves you wanting to read the next one to get more! this book is the sequel to "Mercury Falls", appropriately enough. like its predecessor, "Mercury Rises" is full of snarky humor and obscure culture references that made it hilarious for me. the story picks up shortly after Christine and the Angel Mercury had saved the world from the Apocalypse in "Falls", and follows their attempts to hold off yet another attempt by Lucifer, some other Fallen Angels and minor deities of various cultures to bring an end to the world. these are some of the funniest books i've read in a while, so if you feel a need for a chuckle check them out.

Not as good as the first book, but I love this author's humorous style. Long live Mercury!!!!

Another funny Mercury novel. Science, religion, implosions and one-liners. Great time-filler.

I find this sequel to be a smoother read then MercuryFalls and even much more interesting.
