About book Murder And Mendelson (2013)

This is the 20th book in the Phryne Fisher Mystery series. It is 1929 in Australia and Phryne is asked to help solve the murder of a conductor. She agrees and becomes a member of the choir. While doing that she also helps an old friend from WWI become more alive in the land of the living. Lots of bits of knowledge given throughout the story especially concerning the use of poison. It was an easy fast read. Somebody has killed an unpopular orchestra conductor, and Phryne is called in to help Detective Inspector Robinson interpret this world that's new to him. Also, an old friend of Phryne's from the war (WWI) is in Australia accompanying a mathematician who's giving lectures on his Science of Deduction. As always, interesting characters, odd situations, and a great, fast read, with some odd stumbling blocks caused by Australian references not explained. Being a musician myself, I love the musical references, though most of them are choral.

A fun read for choral singers particularly if you have sung with university choral societies.

another good story but I am getting a little tired of the same subplots in these books.
