About book Natalie's Secret (2006)

This book was different from what I normally read. I normally read books like Matched or Divergent and I liked how i changed things up a bit with this book. I enjoyed this book but there were definitely parts I didn't enjoy. When the whole camp found out about Natalie's father being Tad Maxwell, a huge Hollywood celeb, I thought I would have enjoyed the part better. There were also really big clues in the book. At one part of the book, Natalie's bunkmate Alex had a picture of him hanging on the wall. Natalie got really weird about it and her inner thoughts were like I feel awful about keeping this huge secret from them. Or why is she calling Tad Maxwell cute? Just some things like that. Also I didn't like how quickly some parts of the book happened and how slow other parts did. Like again for example the part when they found out Natalie's dad was Tad Maxwell. It was just a little bit too rushed for me. I felt like when they raided Jenna's brothers bunk, that should have been the shorter part instead of the part about the secret. This whole book revolves around Natalie's secret about her dad. The title is even "Natalie's Secret." I also didn't really love some of the characters in the book. Like Brynn for example. They would bring her up and you would kind of be confused. I don't really think she fit into the book that great. There were some bunkmates that Natalie wasn't close with and they rarely brought them up. When they would mention Sarah, I would always be a little caught off guard. She wasn't a main character and like Brynn, didn't really fit in the whole idea f the book. I know that Natalie couldn't only have like five bunkmates, but i=I feel like maybe some should have maybe been more involved or not even in the book. With that being said, I really enjoyed this book and some of the main characters. I LOVED Simon! He was a really good character and him and Natalie make a really cute couple. I also enjoyed Jenna's really fun, bubbly, light-hearted personality. She was a character that you know everybody likes and I enjoyed her cheery disposition. She added some really cute things to the book. I also LOVED Alyssa. She was quiet and laid back. She was Natalie's best friend. The only reason she was never really in any of my responses was because she stayed out of drama. Kept to herself a bit and loved to read, write, draw, etc. There were a few times in the book were stuff happened with her but not much until the end, For Example she got hurt raiding Jenna's brothers bunk and that was towards the end of the book. When her and Natalie got in a fight and it was finally resolved, that was all at the end of the book. I also liked Julie and Marissa. They were sweet and Julie was the counselor and Marissa was the CIT. This means counselor in training. I could go on and on about the pros and cons of this book. I did like this book though and suggest you read it if you are looking for a easy and fun book. Even thought there were things I didn't really love about this book, every book has its flaws.

This book is part of the Camp Confidentail series the athour of these books her name is Melissa J. Morgan the genre is fiction and there are 160 pages. I finish this book on the date of 9/23/12. Natalie is the main person in this book and this book is about how Natalie has to go to this summer camp called camp Lakeveiw over the summer but she doesnt want to but her mom is forcing her to go but Natalie wanted to go to an acting camp in New York where she lives and her mom wouldnt let her she has to learn how to enjoy her self at this camp and she meets these girls who she might acculy like and this BOY named Simon. This is a review both for Natalie's Secret and for all the books in this series I've read (the series in order up to Freaky Tuesday). Natalie's Secret:Natalie Goode is a city girl from New York. When her mother sends her off to camp, she is less than thrilled. But soon she makes some new friends and starts to enjoy herself; but she has a secret she's been keeping. My thoughts; Natalie's Secret is a pretty decent read, good for girls in 4th-6th grade. I enjoyed it when I was that age, but I'm sure if I read it now I wouldn't enjoy it. It is still pretty good. The sequel to Natalie's Secret is Jenna's Dilemma. The series in general:Pretty decent series. In my opinion, the best ones are Falling in Like (book #11) and Hide and Shriek (book #14). Some books are better than others, though, and some of the "drama" is a bit silly, but other than that it's pretty good. Three stars- both for Natalie's Secret and for the series in general.

I enjoyed this book but i think that certain parts of it were dry. It is about a girl named Natalie who is an NYC girl and has trouble hiding the secret about her dad when she is sent away to sleep away camp. One thing i really enjoyed about this book was that it was easy for me to relate to, since i go to camp. I thought the author was very creative in coming up with the plot and what happens towards the end. I would recommend this book to any girl who goes to camp and likes camp stories. It was an easy read and did not take me very long, but like i said before certain parts were dry making it hard to get through.

This book starts out with a girl named Natalie who is a complete girly city girl who is not used to the concept of camp like everyone else who going is. When she gets their she is not into anything dealing with wilderness. Natalie ends up working for the school newspaper and doing a nature activity. She makes a couple of friends and one really good one named Simon who she has a crush on. She doesn't like the nature thing at first but then she really starts liking it and people start liking her.
