Der Rest von ihnen bleibt zurück, darunter der eher schüchterne Dean, der sich früher immer aus allem herausgehalten hat. Als sie von einem gewalttätigen Einbrecher bedroht werden, muss Dean über sich selbst hinauswachsen ?Meine Meinung:Der erste Band hat mich total überzeugen können. Deshalb habe ich mich total auf den zweiten Band gefreut und ich wurde auch nicht enttäuscht.Dean ist mit Astrid und den beiden Zwillingen in Monument zurückgeblieben. Sie blieben aus vielen Gründen zurück. Sie wollen, dass die Anderen eine wirkliche Chance haben Denver zu erreichen. In dem Einkaufszentrum versuchen sie sich ein kleines Zuhause zu schaffen bis sie gerettet werden. Leider passieren immer wieder Dinge mit denen sie nicht rechnen. Dabei müssen sie ums Überleben kämpfen und einige Dinge tun, die nicht sonderlich schön sind. Was wird passieren? Dies müsst ihr unbedingt selber lesen.Alex (Deans Bruder) ist mit den Anderen in einem Bus unterwegs. Sie wollen nach Denver. Dort sollen sie endlich Hilfe bekommen. Als sie mit dem Bus unterwegs sind, sehen sie endlich wie die Welt aussieht. Sie müssen sich einigen Gefahren stellen. Dann wird der Bus auch noch überfallen und sie müssen um ihr Leben fürchten. Wie wird es weitergehen? Haben sie jetzt überhaupt noch eine Chance nach Denver zu kommen?Anfangs musste ich erst wieder in die Geschichte finden, da ich den ersten Band vor einer ganzen Weile gelesen habe. Nach und nach ist mir dies wieder gelungen. Danach konnte mich die Geschichte wieder total packen. Es passieren so viele Dinge. Man fiebert total mit den Charakteren mit und will, dass endlich alles gut wird. Das Buch ist aus der Sicht von Dean und aus der Sicht von Alex geschrieben. Dadurch wird die Spannung noch gesteigert.Fazit:Der Autorin hat eine gelungene Fortsetzung geschrieben. Es passieren so viele Dinge mit denen man nicht rechnet. Man ist die ganze Zeit aufgeregt, da man einfach nur wissen will wie es weiter geht. Die Charaktere haben mir wieder total gut gefallen und auch die Schauplätze hat die Autorin gut ausgearbeitet. Jetzt freue mich schon auf den dritten und letzten Band. I think that she wrote this book because she wants to captivate her readers and audience. Emmy Laybourne did captivate her readers in the first book and I also think that she captivated her readers in Sky on Fire too. Emmy Laybourne did a good job of hooking me and keeping me interested in the book the whole time. Even though she didn't state her purpose I think we all know that she tried and succeed to captivate her readers and kept us wanting more. The theme of this book is to never lose hope even when you have little hope left. The kids in this story had many struggles but not one of the struggles or challenges made them lose hope. The kids always had hope even when there was little hope left. For example on page 128 the kids were about to lose hope because they were stuck in a big hole. However, an old man came and ended up helping them more than they expected. In that case they had very little hope left but they still had some and they did not give up. They kept yelling and hollering until the man came to help. There are many different styles of characters in this book. One of characters is Alex and Alex is very smart and you can tell by the way the author talks about him. You can tell that Emmy Laybourne wanted him to sound like a smart kid. For example on page 119 Alex knows how to talk Niko (there leader) into taking a break and getting some food and water. One of the other main characters is Dean (Alex’s brother) and Dean is very smart but not in the same way Alex is. If you give Alex a broken computer he can fix in less than an hour and if you give Dean a problem like someone is trying to break in the store, than he is guy you would go to. That is just one of the ways to show how they are both smart but in different ways. Some could say Alex is book smart and Dean is street smart. This is my new favorite book probably until I read the next one (Savage Drift). This book kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time waiting and wondering what was going to happen next. There is honestly nothing that I dislike or would change about this book. I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book because if it is half as good as this book than I’m going to like it. I loved how it switched from Alex to Dean every other chapter. I think that she did that on purpose to keep us hooked and I can tell you that it worked because I was hooked after the first few chapters. This book is very unique, I do not believe that there is any other book like this out there. Even the first book was nothing like this but it was still similar and I loved both of them. I would recommend this to any action packed lover who is looking for a nonstop thriller.
