About book New York To Dallas (2011)

#33 in the Eve Dallas/In Death series. When pedophile Isaac McQueen escapes from Rikers Island prison in NYC, he heads for Dallas, TX to abduct one of a pair of twins he had previously abducted shortly before being captured by Eve Dallas, 12 years earlier. He wants to use her as bait to lure Eve Dallas to come after him. Coincidently Eve received her last name from being found wandering the streets of Dallas after stabbing her father to death while he was brutalizing her. That circumstance may not be logically connected to the current case but logic has nothing to do with Eve's recurring nightmares. A chilling entry in the Eve Dallas saga.Eve Dallas series - When a monster named Isaac McQueen--taken down by Eve back in her uniform days--escapes from Rikers, he has two things in mind. One is to pick up where he left off, abducting young victims and leaving them scarred in both mind and body. The other is to get revenge on the woman who stopped him all those years ago. One of my favorite of the IN DEATH series so far. Isaac McQueen escapes jail and taunts Eve into joining him in Dallas. Sounds straightforward, right? Nope, this one was tricky as hell. He almost got her too, but he didn't. Also, Eve meets someone that she never thought she would see again. Thank goodness that she dies in this book--I know it's mean, but I don't care, that bitch would have made Eve's life hell and I'm glad that she's gone. Roarke was wonderful in this and watching him work with other cops was entertaining...especially when they bring up his past. However, my favorite part was the devolving aspect of McQueen's personality. Being institutionalized is hard, but it's so repetitive that it trains you in a way, and he becomes trained. Too many choices is just too hard to deal with. Fantastic book!! Fantastic ending!!
