About book Odhalená (2013)

I'm crying right now at 03:30 am... Idk how to feel about this book, the last one of Georgina Kincaid. I don't really like the beginning, but the last 100 pages were all worth it. Roman... *crying again* I can't believe what he did for her, he was so... (no, no, I can't express my feelings for him at this point, I'm shocked). And then Carter... this amazing creature touched my heart in a different but beautiful way. I have to say that I expected more about Jerome, I thought that he would change his mind (and heart) for his Georgie, but in a certain way I'm Ok with his posture. And finally Seth and Georgina... what can I say? they were meant to be together, all those lives through space and time are prove enough of that.I give 5 stars to the whole series because at the very end I could only put a smile on my face. At last, Georgina can no longer outpace her past. It comes full circle and to astonishing revelations about herself, Seth and everything she thought knew about Hell's evil, twisty ways.In Succubus Revealed, the last chapter in a great series, we get all the answers that were brought up and ones we, as readers, were wondering about. Georgina's left her old job to avoid the crushing after blow of everyone finding out. Meanwhile, Jerome has ordered Georgina and her Scooby Gang to compete in a bowling match against the archdemoness of Portland, much to everyone's surprise and chagrin. Seth's sister is still very ill and as a result, Seth's writing has suffered while helping out the family--but not his glowing relationship with his one love, Georgina. With the good comes the heartache again because, without warning, Hell decides to send her to a new city, Sin City, and in a blinding hurry. At first, Georgina is suspicious, but all's fair in corruption and evil and she tries to accept it, work around it, but Roman won't, can't and starts to investigate the why, and to fatal results.Book 5 had left me unsure about the overall direction of the story and how my favorite star-crossed lovers were characterized. I realize now that it wasn't as warranted I thought. Mead, of course, has always had a very specific direction and stayed true to her vision of the series, even if I always didn't. The Big Reveal in the second half will blow you away, and cement Mead as one of the most clever, thoughtful and talented authors out there. She knows how to tell a story AND write it beautifully and answers all the questions. The only thing I didn't care for was the whole bit about her being transfered to Vegas and her visit there, which took up a huge chunk of the middle and was ALL filler. While still fun to read, and Mead's exceptional writing skills are ever present, it dragged on and added very little to the book. Also, how Roman was dealt with was sad and I wished he would have been more than a stock piece character when he'd been written to be more than that but never fully developed to his full potential.Overall, I was quite pleased with everything, including the predictable happily ever after swift wrap-up, but after all the hoops that Seth and Georgina had to go through since Book 1, it felt just right. I can't wait to re-read the whole series again, pick up on the little things I missed the first time around. Succubus Revealed was a sweet, satisfying conclusion.
