About book Pas Op! Dit Boek Bijt (2013)

This is truly a great book! My Mum bought a paperback copy of this today as a Christmas present for someone. We begin with a lovely little story, though someone is crashing the party. A crocodile! What's he doing here? The crocodile causes ever such a mess! He begins eating words and even later munches a hole through the back of the book.It is a fantastic book. It has adorable drawings and a lovely story. In this novel, it starts out describing what seems to be the classic tale of the ugly duckling. However, the author is startled when a tail is still out behind the page. He continues to be puzzled and eventually finds the source of the problem: a crocodile! Then, the narrator proceeds to try to get this beast out of the story by any means possible. In the end, the crocodile ends up getting out and the narrator can finally be at peace.I really enjoyed how interactive this book was with the audience. At one point, it asked the reader to tilt the book back and forth in order to lull the crocodile to sleep. I thought that those little details made the book much more exciting and fun for the reader.I also liked how the book was set up. The fact that the last two pages looked like there was a hole eaten out where the crocodile chewed his way out made the story much more realistic. Overall, I was really pleased with the storyline, illustrations, interactive aspect, and honestly the overall book.
