About book Peeny Butter Fudge (2009)

This story is about three children who stay with their grandmother for the day. Their mother leaves a detailed list on the refrigerator of things for the children to do, but the grandmother has her own fun plans for the day. The children spend the day listening to stories and making fudge with their grandmother. It is a tradition to make the fudge just like their mother did when she was younger. I love how realistic the story line is. I think that by doing this, children will be more invested in it. I also really like that the book was written by Toni Morrison and her son. This adds to what the book truly is about, family. The illustrations are bright and humorous. They add life to the characters and make the book a joy to read. I would use this book to introduce ending rhyme to students, then I would have students write their own poem about a tradition they do using ending rhyme. 'Peeny Butter Fudge' by Toni Morrison and Slade Morrison is a cute rhyming tale about a grandmother spending quality time with her grandchildren. At the end of the day, they decide to make fudge before their mother comes home. The book has wonderful illustrations and is the type of book that will get kids to ask to read it over and over again. It also includes the recipe for peeny butter fudge in the back.

Do You like book Peeny Butter Fudge (2009)?

The author obviously dialed-in this drivel. I composed better poetry in the 4th grade. Pass.
