About book Perfect Summer (2000)

This book starts off where the last book ends, with Drew finding Summer and Nat in bed together. From there it goes into the love triangle where summer is trying very hard to figure out her confusing feelings for the two and Drew is trying unsuccessfully to stand back and let her be with Nat. Not only that but she has feelings for Aster as well which are more a friendship than romantic love but Aster wants more. Not only is there a love triangle of sorts but there's also a lot more mystery involved in this story which keeps you on the edge of your seat. You're not going to want to put this book down but it ends all too soon with a cliffhanger that makes you wanna scream. The only problem I have with this book is there are a lot of errors as far as wording goes, that and the fact that I wish Summer would make a decision already!! LoL. Other than that it is a fantastic book and I would highly recommend it to those of you who have read the previous novels in this series! Thanks Kailin for a great read! May contain spoilers. If you are reading this book or even thinking about reading this book then you have probably read the other books in this series. I’m not going to lie, I was ecstatic to get a chance to read this book. Why you ask? Nat. Nat Donovan. I was promised that there would be more Nat and let me tell you…Yes there was. In my head I was hearing Justin Timberlake’s song “bringing sexy back”. Nat brought the sexy. Now this doesn't mean that Drew is out of the game. Oh no, he’s still in it but he’s too back and forth. His theme song this time around was Katy Perry’s ” Hot and Cold”. Even Summer said he was hot and cold with his feelings. And Summer? OMG, she is getting on my last nerve with her indecision. I've always liked her as a character but this being in love with two hot guys, possibly three is wearing on me. Pick one already. Astor is still around. In fact, he looks to be a more permanent fixture around the area. Which is nice because Summer needs a friend. That’s right I said friend. Astor, in my mind, has been friend zoned. Welcome to the friend zone, Astor.Let me break it down for you:• If you love Nat you will be thrilled with how much there is of him in this book. • Think about what happened at the end of the last book. Drew is dealing with his feelings and is all over the place. Nat finally lays his suspicions out there for Drew. Now Drew can deal with it in a healthier way. On a side note, I was right.• Summer has been undecided with her feelings. She is with Nat for the most part but her heart is still questioning things. I was questioning her sanity. (Summer, you’re with Nat and you are questioning yourself. Please, for the love of God, knock it off). She is attracted to Drew and others see it. She does seem to come to an epiphany about which one is her love but it could be a matter of a little too late. Plus the way she copes with things at the end had me a little upset with her.• In the last book Summer was bullied. In this one it hasn’t totally gone away. There is a guy that is stalking her and that leads to some intense moments. He says some things in his ramblings that Summer brushes off as the words of a crazy person. I don’t know. Could there be some truth to what he said? It would be interesting if there was.• Another book by the Author is mentioned in this one and that was totally awesome. I haven’t read that one yet but I do have the first two books. I am going to have to read those. • Another surprise is that one of her characters from another book steps in for a bit. Loved that and the connections he has to the Donovans and Astor.• The ending? Just rip my heart out now and be done with it. It is up in the air as to what is happening with Nat. I’m holding out for some resolution but it sucks that I have to wait. I’m not giving up hope.• Nat has got to be the most romantic guy. That letter he wrote was worthy of my tears. That’s right, I cried. I’m a big girl and I admit it. • I could keep going with all my thoughts but you really need to read it for yourself. You are either going to read this book because you have been following this series or your not. I am going to have to say read the book. It is my favorite for all the Nat…he is my Nat in shining armor. My favorite lines:“Hungry much?” Nat asked. I laughed. “Always for anything Nat-made.”“What’s with the parade of hot men today?” Trish muttered. I smiled back at her. “Seems like they travel in packs.”And because I am team Nat I am always looking for those who agree with me:--This is straight from Rachel “If he wasn’t my brother, and if I wasn’t so into Ryan, I would pick Nat.” -- “No, “ Drew said, looking pained and sad. “Nat has a lot of things he needs to tell you, Summer. It’s better if I don’t stay. You’ll want to spend some time with him, and for the first time in my life, Summer, I’m Team Nat.” There you go. I have confirmation from Nat’s two siblings that Team Nat is the way to go.
