About book Photo, Snap, Shot (2010)

I did take a quick break from my library books to read a book just for me. Fun fluff. That's what the Kiki Lowenstein books are all about. If you love scrapbooking and you love mysteries, you'll love these books. It helps that I identify with frumpy housewife Kiki, even if I never had the pampered start to marriage that she did. A midwestern girl trying to find her way about upperclass St. Louis (where my family hailed from), Kiki is downright admirable in her fierce love for her daughter and her desire to be desired by an exciting man. In this third installment of the series, Kiki, yet again finds herself wrapped up in a murder. This one takes place at her daughter's school and lands Anya smack in the middle of all the action. I'm anxious for another book in the series...just because they are fun! This series just keeps getting better and better. Kiki is still working at the scrapbook store and creating marvelous pieces for her students and customers but her personal life is still a mess. She and her daughter Anya have moved to a new house to get away from the person who killed her husband, with MIL Sheila's help. Anya is still going to the swanky school that Grandma is paying for and that is where the trouble starts. One of the teachers is killed and Anya and a close friend stumble into the crime scene. Kiki and Sheila are immediately in full "protect Anya" mode which include Kiki working with Detective Detweiler to help find the murderer. There are a host of suspects, the dead teacher wasn't very popular, and Kiki runs through all of them (or gets run into in some painful ways).I didn't exactly figure it out - I only had a brief "I wonder if XXX is the killer" moment but no idea why. So, no I didn't figure it out but loved the ride until all was explained! Can't wait for the next in the series.

A mystery steeped in class and race in St. Louis - very well written and researched.
