About book Poles Apart (2014)

Carson and Emma met at a Gentlemen's Club where he was celebrating his birthday. He was then an upcoming MotoGP circuit driver and she was a waitress and part time lap dancer. After that first meeting, Carson would regularly visit the club every week for three years. She watched him become successful and famous. Carson having feelings for her, in Emma's opinion, was a warped fairy tale dream. Emma was such a strong character for someone so young. The depth of her maturity in facing difficulties and her willingness to take on responsibilities was astounding. She was willing to sacrifice in order for the person she loved live his dream.Carson was such a sweet guy. Though their interactions were always in Emma's place of work, she wasn't just a lap dancer to him. His gestures and actions showed otherwise. I loved how he would ask her for secret words she wanted him to say while he was being interviewed so she would know he was thinking about her, and he would say it no matter how ridiculous it was. He was thoughtful, affectionate, caring.. all the qualities you wanted in an ideal boyfriend. Why he didn't make their relationship official? I will let the book clear that up for you.Emma never allowed herself to believe Carson would feel something for her. Like the title suggests, they were poles apart. He was famous and had a bright future. She was barely getting by sending herself to school and responsible for two people in her life. She carried the stigma of being a girl who danced for money in a club that she was impervious to his gestures and obvious concern for her. Plus, she had a secret. A secret that blew in her face in the most public way possible. There were parts that frustrated me, especially how Emma seemed so clueless about Carson's feelings for her. But all in all, it was a sweet story. It had the same winning formula as the author's other books. Poles Apart.Okay. I guess it is safe to say I have a new favourite author.I liked the writing style and I liked what was done to the sequence of events.Carson and Emma were great protagonists and one cannot help but love Carson. Really. I think I also have a new book boyfriend.I think I could've done with Emma being a little less of a cry baby but well, you can't have it all.I liked that the story line was predictable in parts and not so much in others. It's awesome to read stuff like that. What I liked the most was that this book is free of unnecessary complications and 97% free of melodrama. God knows those books are hard to find. And when you do find them...they are the ones to cherish and treasure.So..loved it.
