This volume is a good chuckle because it explains the backstory of the Sailors, Tuxedo Mask, and the "dark force" in the universe. It basically helps the reader figure out what the fudge is going on and finally explains Sailor V.And it's so ridiculous that it is almost a parody of anime. And I can't help but love it. Usagi and her friends are so silly and fun.Something is definitely missing from the manga: pretty colors. That was part of what made the TV series so appealing. The manga definitely clears up the background story but misses much of the magic of the show. Fight scenes (if you can even call them that) are especially hard to follow. The first volume left me wanting more... And I got more!The truth about the princess has been revealed but will Usagi be able to survive the pain? I love seeing the blossoming relationship between Usagi and Mamoru Chiba! I have to say that the manga turned into a kind of a beautiful tragic love story. I don't remember the anime ever being this sad but I like the difference.After you're finished reading the volume there will only be one question you'll want answered.. Will Usagi ever get her Mamo-chan back??Can't wait to read volume 3!
I like the story arc so much more, but I find Usagi's romance highly creepy now. She's 14!!!
