About book Prometidos (2013)

This is the third book in the Birthmarked trilogy. After defying the ruthless Enclave, surviving the wasteland, and upending the rigid matriarchy of Sylum, Gaia Stone now faces her biggest challenge ever. She must lead the people of Sylum back to the Enclave and persuade the Protectorat to grant them refuge from the wasteland. In Gaia's absence, the Enclave has grown more cruel, more desperate to experiment on mothers from outside the wall, and now the stakes of cooperating or rebelling have never been higher.

Do You like book Prometidos (2013)?

This is DARK and disturbing. And Gaia didn't get any better. How she was able to lead a group of people and not get them all killed is beyond me. Was disappointed. Another dystopian where babies are the bargaining chips. It's good. There's enough suspense, mystery, and character likability for me to read the whole trilogy. And Gaia is strong and smart and willing to do the right thing regardless of the consequences. That was my first impression of her, but I believe she's rash, immature, and silly. I'm not liking her much now. And really? 3 guys have to fall hard for her???

This one starts out with a promise and then a whole lot of promises that are broken as Gaia and her Sylum followers try negotiating with Leon's evil, lying, adoptive father, the Protectorate. Mostly, it's one bad thing after another with Gaia wanting non-violent methods of obtaining water and Leon going the other way to get results. I think I could have written a better ending, but I enjoyed the series.
