About book Racing For Freedom (2000)

First of all I love the names of the leading characters - Dasha and Slade. This book has some sex, it has some suspence and it has a decent storyline. It has an interesting perspective - a girl racing. The abuse of Slade is disturbing. We don't really find out the back story as to why his father Michael beat him. And then when Michael hit Dasha -- I was appalled (not with the book but with the character). The book is an easy quick read and I liked it. My one comment would be that it didn't consume me. I love reading a book to the point that I cannot put it down. Don't get me wrong it is a good book and I suggest you give this author a try if you haven't. I am going to try reading some of her other books - series and I will have to say on the subject when I do.I read this an a ebook. Every attempt to boost and amplify the drama is misguided and ridiculous. Much like the author's other writings, this book is very tactless. The suspense is nonexistent and the fabricated ups and downs are too dumb to be entertaining. You can see exactly where everything is going with the first page, and it is just downhill from there. I don't know why I keep trying to read this author's stuff, never again."He is an Asian doctor, but he has a kind face."- why was this necessary?
