About book Ready To Were (Shift Happens Series #1) (2000)

This was a cute, funny, fast read. I enjoyed the characters and the story. It was stupid and funny and fast-paced. I great book just to escape with for a little while. If you are looking for a fun read that will make you laugh I heartily recommend this book.My only complaint is that there are some obvious editing errors. (Examples: A "no" where there should be a "not", a "could" where the context clearly indicates the sentence should read "could not".) Not enough to lower the rating but jarring when you run across them. What do you do when you feel betrayed and your heart is in tattered pieces? You become an agent for the government, of course. WTF (no, not that wtf) has a job that requires Essie to head home. Home is the last place she wants to go.The characters in this new series are full of life. I am loving the outrageous, gay best friend and vampire, and the grandmother is going to give Essie gray hair instead of the other way around. Robyn delivers another great book full of her wit and her special language.I was pulled into the story quickly and read it straight through. Well, there was that trip to the bathroom to insure I wouldn’t wet myself from laughing at the grandmother and the vampire. I cannot wait to see what will happen in the next installment.
