About book Rebekah (2013)

I usually love her books, but somehow this one was just too sad and depressing. I guess life is just messy and confusing, and it was even back in the days of old. The tension between Isaac and Rebekah was hard to handle, and the favoritism of children was frustrating and disappointing. It caused me to evaluate my relationships with my children and husband. Made me thankful to be born in the time I am in. Sorry. To me this book was a real snoozer. I'm in a bible study group - right now working through Genesis. It seemed to me as if this book lacked depth in it's characters. No emotional 'hook' for me. I suppose if a person had not read the bible, this book would be a good spring-board to the story of Isaac and Rebekah. I won;t be reading any of the other books in this series. The excellent writings of Francine Rovers has totally spoiled me, for sure. Jill Eileen Smith doesn't even come close.
