The first two thirds of this book were great. When I realised children were in the mix as Helen fled to Scotland, I was nearly put off, but this was part of the story Ms Hoyt handled well. 9 year old Abigail in particular was a beautifully drawn character and I loved watching a new family unwittingly forming.The final third was just good. I often find myself a little frustrated by finales in Elizabeth Hoyt's books - fantastic setups lack the payoff that is promised. One conflict is swiftly resolved and the other conflict was... not really a conflict. Still, I want to read more from this series (cleverly I started with book 3 - oops) and as always, the parallel story introducing each chapter was clever and charming, such a neat conceit. E neste livro reencontrei Elizabet Hoyt, já que com o último livro que li da autora fiquei um pouco desiludida.Este romance foi muito bem conseguido , o solitário Sir Alistair Munroe que ficou com cicatrizes no rosto depois de ter sido capturado quando acompanhava um grupo de soldados .Desde então escondeu-se do mundo num castelo isolado, dedicando-se somente as sua flores e plantas.Helen uma mulher com dois filhos, foge de um passado complicado e vai ser governanta de Sir Alistair , mas será que Sir Alistais estará interessado em ter uma jovem e linda mulher com dois filhos amorosos a invadir a sua vida de eremita, e o que é que eles irão fazer para trazer a vida este homem sofrido mas incrivelmente forte.Um romance lindo, personagens muito bem construídas, uma história delicada .Adorei.
