I first read this read ago and I've re-read it a few times over the years. This is the first time I listen to this on audio though and I was happy to be able to enjoy a story of one of my favorite authors again. Especially since this is my favorite series of hers. I'm such a sucker for books about hockey players and the reason for all that is this series right here. Hockey players are hot, and nobody writes them hotter than Mrs. Gibson!As a reporter, Jane's next job is to cover the Chinooks hockey team and travel with them on all their games. But the guys are a superstitious bunch and they believe that having a women traveling with them is bad luck for them. Things don't help when they lose a few games (guy logic). So, they plan to do everything they can to get rid of Jane. They aren't mean to her, but they flat-out ignore her. They also have this weird trick to scare her away by dropping their pants whenever she comes in the locker room to ask any post-game questions (imagine the visual). But Jane is a stubborn woman and isn't going to let a bunch of dicks (pun intended) cost her the most important job of her career. Eventually, Jane wins over the guys including Luc, who just loves to get under her skin. But a relationship with a hockey player may not be the smartest thing, no matter how hot their hookups may be. Especially since Jane secretly writes an erotic column and has been writing about her sexy encounters with a certain hockey player.This was such a fun book. I love all of Gibson's hockey guys and Luc is no exception (although Sam will always hold a special place in my heart). He was such a great alpha male without being too overdone. I loved his relationship with Jane and how they went from hating each other to not being able to keep their hands off of each other. Like Gibson's other books, this is low on drama and high on romance and yummy sexual tension. This is the second book in the Chinooks Hockey Team although each one can be read as a stand-alone. I highly recommend you read them all though. If you're looking for a fun and sexy romance, then this is the book for you!Audiobook Comments: I've heard a few books narrated by Kathleen Early at this point, but this was the first. While I think she did a really great job as Jane, I have the same complaint as always. I really wish they would have had a male narrator for the male pov's. A female narrator for male POV chapters is always one of my pet peeves. I'm really glad that she didn't sound old, which is another pet peeve of mine with adult books. Other than that, this was another great performance by Kathleen and I will be listening to more books narrated by her in the future. Absolutely wonderful! Bad-boy hockey player falls for "plain Jane" journalist (4.5 stars)When I first read See Jane Score, I thought it was absolutely amazing and would have given it way more than five stars if I could have. I first read it from the library and immediately got it online afterwards, since I knew this would be a (multiple) future reread for me. I have already reread it once so far and although the second time, my rating went down to 4.5 stars, it is still definitely one of my favorite contemporary romances. Jane and Luc were wonderful characters and their interactions were very enjoyable; the supporting cast was also great - Jane's friend Caroline was a riot, watching Luc develop a relationship with his sister Marie was very sweet, and the other hockey players (+ Darby) added a lot of humor. I've read a fair amount of romances (probably an understatement), and though they have most all been historicals, I think it's usual in the romance genre that when an author has one of the main characters do something that creates conflict for the couple and causes issues/a fight towards the end, it's almost always the guy. That's why it was a nice change to have in this book the heroine be the one who does something that causes the conflict (one of Jane's "Honey Pie" articles) and have her be the one with all the regret and guilt and the hero be the injured party. Interesting hate/love story, I enjoyed very much how even if Luc and Jane aparently couldn´t stand each other, they were developing a strong atraction, like when could hardly stop looking at her while they were on the plane. I was just waiting for them to understand that it wasn´t hate but love. I just wished that Jane would have talked to Luc about the Honey Pie story, but I guess it was too much to ask.I liked the relationship Jane had with the team. How at first they only talked with her abiut "girl stuff" and completly ignored her when she tried to do her work. And then how everything got better when they thought she was giving them good look and not jinxed them. The good luck rituals were hilarious, and the dropping pants too ;)As a figure skating fan, I was really excited with reading about hockey players, I know it´s not the same, but what can I say, it had rinks, ice, skating boots, blades...

I absolutely loved this book! Why? First, it's a sports romance (my favorite). Second, the snappy writing. Funny, super sexy, with plenty of sharp, witty dialogue and plenty of sparring between the H/h, superstar hockey goalie Luc Martineau and the reporter assigned to cover his team, "natural" girl Jane Alcott. Fantastic sexual tension in this one. And third (and most important), the characters. Unlike the first book in this series (Simply Irresistible) I had no issues with the hero and heroine--they were very likable (even if Luc was a bit spoiled and a little selfish) and so well written that they just jumped off the pages and into my heart. It was so easy to root for Jane, who was so physically unlike the "Barbie"-types that Luc was normally attracted to. To watch her attract the sexy-stud-with-a-reputation Luc's interest with her smarts, guts and personality instead of her body was a pleasure to read. Jane was short (5'), small breasted, dressed in unfashionable mostly black clothes, and wasn't a fan of makeup. And Luc kept telling himself that Jane wasn't his type...Jane... Luc... I also loved how Jane had a sort of second secret career as a writer for a men's magazine detailing the scandalous adventures of "Honey Pie", and how this secret came between her and Luc. "Honey Pie was Jane's alter ego. Gorgeous. Uninhibited. Every man's dream. A hedonist who left men in sweaty comas throughout Seattle, wrung out and incapable of speech, yet somehow able to beg for more..."Ahh, I could go on and on. This book read like a dream, and I breezed through it in less than a day. It made me laugh and it made me cry. It had me turning the pages and wishing for more. It had me hoping that all the remaining books in this series are as good as this one. It had sexual tension and it had heat. It had a heroine I adored and a hero that made me swoon. Readers interested in sports romance--don't miss this series! Even though the author might not know as much about hockey lingo as I thought she did after reading the first book (referring to a loss as "they lost 2 to 3" instead of "3 to 2" and saying things like "he made a goal" instead of "he scored a goal" and "they lost by 2 points" instead of "they lost by 2 goals")--those were just blips in an otherwise fantastic Cinderella story. With this book, I've become a fan! 5 stars

Mi è piaciuto un sacco. Più il protagonista maschile, Luc (ormai uno dei miei preferiti), che lei, Jane. Ma ciò è molto comune nel romance, perché descrivere grandi personaggi maschili è molto più facile. E poi adoro l'hockey e la Gibson sa anche parlare di sport senza mai eccedere. È una grande serie, questa dei Seattle CHinook, la consiglio assolutamente (anche perché i primi due sono già stati tradotti in italiano, quindi è accessibile anche a chi non legge in VO). Non do 5 stelle, ma solo 4 e mezzo, perché in alcuni momenti Jane è un po' irritante e perché il finale si risolve un po' troppo in fretta. COmunqe, a great read!!!
