About book Shadow Sight (2012)

This book left me disappointed. That said, I'm still going to read the sequel. Because although, it came out very stiffly written and was generally frustrating, this book had potential. The concept was brilliant, it's just that the writing of the story fell flat.As someone else below said, "I've learned with experience, and quite a few times too- first books of fantasy series tend to not be as awesome as the rest of the series. So, I'll be reading the next book, hoping that it just might turn out to be really great." This was a fun book. Ivy Granger is a quirky, snarky person and I loved that about her.. She had a unique gift (curse) of Psychometry which leaves her unable to touch things. E.J. Stevens made the world of the Fae a little more believable. Not all things in the Faerie verse are beautiful and she made sure you new that. This was a nice break from the usual fluff I've read in the past about the Fae Folk.. All in all it was a good quick read. And I will be picking up the new book Ghost Light when it comes out in July.

This had an interesting story and was well written but I just couldn't connect with the characters.

Nice read! No big surprises (but I'm rather jaded), I'll try some more by this Author.

More enjoyable than the first novel -- it was a little predictable, but worthwhile
