I won this in LibraryThing's Early Reviewer's Program, and it's cute. It's got stickers and in the back there's a section where the author teaches you how to draw cats and whatnot in his style. There's not much to the book itself, as it's not a story so much as showing you Simon's cat in some kind of conflict with something else, and again, it's cute. If you're a fan of Simon's Cat videos on YouTube, you'll get a kick out of this, but it's not something that you really HAVE to get unless you got kids who'll want to flip through the book again and again. For adults, it's easy to flip through in the span of a few minutes. Questa nuova raccolta di vignette di Simon Tofield vede come in passato il gatto più visualizzato su YouTube fare tutti i danni possibili e immaginabili, almeno quando non dorme; come sempre accompagnato da una caterva di personaggi secondari, dal micino ai porcospini, dal suo povero padrone allo gnomo da giardino che essendo di gesso può essere messo in una serie di posizioni incongrue ma plausibili.Io continuo a pensare che siano più divertenti i video, perché non è possibile riprendere bene un gatto con immagini statiche; in questo caso, però, c'è un valore aggiunto dato sia dal colore che vivacizza sicuramente le grandi tavole che dallo stile di riempimento delle pagine che è completamente diverso (e ci credo, visto che Tofield non deve fare dieci frame per secondo).Aggiungo che i miei gemelli quasiquattrenni hanno apprezzato anche loro "il libro coi gatti"... tanto ci sono solo delle didascalie, quindi possono goderselo anche da soli.
