About book Steal His Heart (2000)

To be honest, I didn't finish this book. I got as far as the wedding and I'd had it with both Kent and Daisy - especially Kent. I roll my eyes shuddering if he is the example of a swoon-worthy hottie. He's domineering, overbearing, jealous, possessive and thinks he has the right to 'change the girl' - grrrrr, even though she was 'acting outside the law'. He is also dumb. His boss clearly didn't have a problem with what Daisy was doing, so shouldn't that have wrung some alarm bells that maybe there was more here than met the eye? That said, I really enjoyed the idea behind the story. Original and fun. This was a cute read, I really enjoyed it. Daisy has been hired on to be a shoplifter at a department store. She steals from various departments and then writes up reports on what the store can do to prevent shoplifters. One night she is caught by the head of security, Kent. Sparks fly and both are attracted to one another. The problem is Kent thinks she’s a shoplifter and until her job is done she can’t tell him the truth. It was funny to see Kent try and “save” Daisy and cure her from her shoplifting tendencies. They had fun chemistry together. Besides the whole shoplifting and lack of trust angle, there isn’t a lot of conflict in their relationship, which is fine if you’re in the mood for a fun light-hearted story. I liked Daisy’s matchmaking boss Mr. Larsen. It’s kind of left that there may be another book (maybe two, one for each of Daisy’s sisters), and I hope there is. Overall, a super cute chick-lit type book that will definitely keep you entertained. Now I have to decide which of Darcy's books I should read next!Content: Clean.
