About book Street Game (2009)

Street Game is the eighth book in the Ghostwalker series from author, Christine Feehan. It isn’t necessary to have read the previous books in the Ghostwalker series to follow Street Game, but for a more complete picture I would suggest reading them. Street Game focuses on Mack McKinley and Jaimie. We soon discover they had a previous relationship which ended with Jaimie leaving Mack. In this story we are introduced to another Ghostwalker team, which our two lead characters belong too. We gain a little more insight into the characters Whitney and Violet mentioned in previous books. I felt at times there was more going on than necessary to move the story along smoothly. Perhaps too many small side storylines. I understand that the author was perhaps trying to introduce more characters for future books but it all kind of felt mashed together. My favorite character in this book is Kane, the second in command to Mack, while I did love the two characters the book was focused on I feel that with the little information we learned about him, that Kane’s story will be quite interesting. Luckily it is the next in the series so I will not have to wait long to discover if I’m right. As a whole I did like the story and I would suggest it for anyone who enjoys romance or supernatural romance. About one hundred pages in, I realized that I had read this book before, a long time ago. It was just familiar enough to remember a couple of scenes. I still read it all the way through. Everything is getting more intense as all the teams get closer to stopping Whitney. Mack and Jaimie are just...sigh.... Such an intense love for one another. The dynamic between the entire team, having grown up together and calling themselves a family, was wonderful. There were definitely many moments that their bickering had me laughing out loud, especially the scenes between Mack, Kane, and Jaimie. A very good book, a great way to keep the main a storyline going. I love learning about these people's lives.
