State Agent John Tomasetti asked Police Chief Kate Burkholder to help out on a case. Several Amish teens from communities scattered across Ohio have disappeared without a trace. Their families are hesitant to talk to the authorities. John is hoping the parents will cooperate with Kate since she was formerly Amish herself. But when the body of one of the girls is discovered, Kate and John must find the link between the girls and a suicide that happened over ten years ago. This was another page-turner in the Kate Burkholder series. The characters are well developed and grow from book to book. The mystery is riveting. I couldn't put the book down. The ending was a surprise for me. I can't wait to get to the next book. My rating: 5 Stars. Das vierte Buch und auch diesmal war ich wieder total begeistert. Während ich Band 1 eigentlich gar nicht lesen wollte kann ich nun gar nicht mehr aufhören. Einige Mädchen verschwinden und sofort geht es auch schon los mit dem Nervenkitzel. Spannungsbogen sofort ganz oben, auch weil Kate diesmal persönlich betroffen ist denn auch Sadie Miller ist verschwunden. Auch Tomasetti ist wieder mit von der Partie und ich fand es auch echt toll zu lesen wie es bei Tomasetti und Kate langsam aber sicher weitergeht in ihrer “Beziehung”. Viele Wirrungen führen letztendlich zu einem langen Finale, welches ich nicht erwartet hätte weil ich DAMIT nicht gerechnet hätte und am Ende echt aufgewühlt war von soviel Grausamkeit. Das Ende hat mir echt die Sprache verschlagen weil dann nochmal alles gedreht wurde und nichts so war wie es schien. Ich bin restlos begeistert und werde jetzt Buch 5 lesen!!!
