About book Teardrop (2013)

It took me 3 tries to engage with this book. I found it really slow until at least 1/2 way when the pace finally picked up.Positives: really creative premise involving Atlantis, you can feel Eureka's pain which speaks to some good writing, interesting characters, and an exciting ending.Negatives: limited & superficial romance for romance lovers, REALLY slow startNot sure that it was interesting enough to get me to pick up book 2 Teardrop started out as something I picked up on a whim at the closing of the Kmart store in my hometown that I never really got around to reading until the last few days. The artwork of the cover was intriguing, the cover slip description enchanting and let's face it, I'm a sucker for a good tag line. When I finally set about to read this book, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a really genuinely good book. The characters were ultimately believable; I could easily relate with the main character's struggles with the depression she has following the death of her mother especially. That said, the plot did lag in some points, but not enough that one couldn't plug through it. This book really shines with scenes that are very vivid with abstract imagery and the ones that are for lack of better terminology like you can imagine them straight out of a movie. (You'll pardon me; I'm writing this on little sleep and not exactly a ton of time to word it properly) *SPOILER ALERT* the scene in particular that had my jaw dropped to the desk was when they had the twin siblings trussed up on the porch swing. It was written so well, so vividly and in such detail that I could imagine their terrified little faces staring back at me from the pages. It took everything I had not to throw the book across the room, I was so angry with the antagonists (which is really hard to do, as I am a bibliomaniac; my books are my babies). Definitely a good YA book.

Do You like book Teardrop (2013)?

I felt like the book took a while to get going. I was really mad at Brooks, and I can't stand maya. Love the twins and I found Rhoda annoying. I know she was trying to help Eureka, but I felt she came off as rude. I felt like her and Trenton's marriage was on the rocks. I bought this book, but I think I'll check the other one out at the library. I read a comment someone posted about this book being like The Fallen series so far I disagree.

I read all the Fallen books in 3-4 months and I loved them. This however was an utter let down. I gave it 7 chapters and I just couldn't punish myself any longer.Don't get me wrong I really like Lauren Kate It just felt the the book was missing heart that the her fans crave. Eureka was the most whiny annoying character in the book... Seriously. And what kind of description is "Don't cry."I regret preordering this...
