About book Texas Woman (2003)

The independent sovereign of the Republic of Texas in 1844 was battling with conflicting interests whether to allow annexation to the United States or not. It was during this time Sloan Stewart discovered her deceased lover Antonio Guerrero used her to aid in the effort to sabotage annexation. Pregnant, betrayed, and untrusting Sloan signed a contract with Antonio’s brother Cruz to raise her baby without her and she returned home to begin life anew with no intention to ever love again after Antonio’s betrayal. Cruz had other plans for Sloan, a long-time desire burned within him for her and after he accomplished justice for his brother’s murder, Cruz planned to make Sloan hold up her end of the bargain made at the contract signing. Hidden agendas, secrets, and revenge send Sloan’s world crashing. “Texas Woman” was the third book in the trilogy, Sisters of the Lone Star. The simple writing, constant pace, and historical references made this book a pleasure to read. Love, trust, and the coming together of a family were focused within the story.
