About book: If you enjoy books that will make you fall asleep, I would recommend The Cat's Table. But if you're looking for an interesting an exciting book, this is not the book for you. I found myself reading 10 pages and then dozing off. The characters are boring, and the plot is bland as well. Michael Ondaatje does a decent job of writing. I was able to paint a picture in my head, but it wasn't a picture I liked. I found the book to be a typical nonfiction novel where the author failed to add any interest to the story. Overall, The Cat's Table is not a book I would recommend. But hey, it's not for everyone. Maybe different readers will enjoy it more than I did. This is by far the worst book I have read in a while. I found myself bored and unable to read for more than 15 minutes at a time. I also was very confused with the almost constant movement from place to place with no real reason and the overuse of pointless metaphors. Another reason i disliked this book is I really didn't care about the characters or what happened to them. I really did not enjoy this book and would not recommend it.

Started great! Turned to rambling midway through. Disappointed because of such a great start.
