About book The Curtis Reincarnation (2008)

I'm not going to say a single thing about the story, because that's been done, and done again in other reviews. What I want to say is about the incredible effect the book had on me. Yes, there were flaws. There are always flaws. Maybe they did get together a little quickly, but those are minor things, because hell this book deals with some heavy stuff. Alec goes through hell and by definition those who love him are dragged along behind. The book is not afraid to deal with some difficult issues, such as dreadful psychological abuse, and the scars it leaves, mental health issues and the devastating effects of epilepsy. Okay, maybe I was drawn to the book because I empathize with the character, being epileptic myself but that is a double edged sword, because if it's not totally believable to me, it taints the whole story, and here it was totally believable and links in perfectly with the plot and characters. All of the characters are flawed in one way or another (except Jordan really. Can't think of many flaws there) and have traits that could be irritating and over the top if not dealt with well - which they are.I picked this book up at about seven, and went to bed at three am. I could hardly keep my eyes open but I had to find out what was going to happen when our poor boy kept being thrown from one disaster to another like a ball in a pinball machine. We know something's got to give and oh boy does it give in the end. This book is not all doom and gloom. There are some sweet scenes and a lot of humour. This is definitely one of the best books I've read in a long time. *WoW*Why was this book not on any of my shelves?! I'm a sucker for Rockers and this one wasn't even on my radar, I'm thrilled that it was picked for me.Tyler Curtis was the bad boy Rocker in front of the camera but behind the scenes he was Alec the young man who was and along with everything real about him...hidden away from the world. Meeting Jordan was one of the best things that could have happened to him...he says it was the best thing. This was a insta-love story but I didn't mind at all...Alec had been thru so much that I wanted this so badly for him. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to punch a few people in the face and most of all I wish I coulda just reached in and grabbed Alec so I could hug him and tell him he is an amazing guy.
