About book The Parent Pact (2012)

As a single mom to two teens, I could definitely relate to raising a child living paycheck to paycheck. I am not quite as poor as the main character in this novel, but I do struggle with this economy. I felt like I was reading a dream as I read this book. I would love to fall in love with a man who cared about me as much as the main male character did about the female main character. I guess that is why we have books like this, right? We can imagine the story in our heads. I think the author did a good job with the story, which is similar to Pretty Woman, except the female main character has a young child and isn't a prostitute. I would recommend this book as a good read! This was the first book that I had read from this author but I can tell you that it won’t be my last!I really enjoyed the story line. Annie becomes pregnant at sixteen after being given a date rape drug at a party. Rather than aborting the baby she drops out of high school and ends up raising him on her own after her mother dies. Her little boy is now 6 and going into the first grade. She meets Tyler who has recently lost his wife and is now raising his 6 year old on his own. Annie and Tyler make the parent pact. This will allow both children to have the missing parent that they so desperately want while providing Tyler with a housekeeper and Annie with a larger income that she so desperately needs. I really enjoyed the main characters of this book as well as their friends. Especially Ben, Sabrina and Luke. I’m hoping that they will play a major part in their own story soon. 4.5 stars
