About book The Roots Of Obama's Rage (2010)

Chose this one for my typical end-of-year foray into punditry. It's not super dense, but I don't think that an upmarket fiction crowd would be able to stand it.All I am is confused. I read half of it, almost feel sorry for Obama (his father was a fecund wife-beating child-abandoning drunkard and his mother also completely abandoned him and other people who were loons; when she was suffering/dying from cancer he never visited her--- which is telling), and don't get why so many people were blind to the false narrative (ie, lies) he spouted throughout his career and campaign. (He has nothing in common with American blacks, etc.) D'Souza seems to be in awe though, but I think he's off the mark with Obama's race transcendence. He isn't a race hustler himself but since taking office he has surrounded himself with them, though it's interesting to note that some think he's not doing enough.Am at the halfway point and need a break. This book isn't holding my interest. 3 tries to id, a ? like Nixon, anti colonial bias, lure of Africa and wright, too much use by us, painful colonize Hawaii, absent dad concurrent wives alcoholic, vote present 100 times as blank slate, money for brazil oil and US drilling bans, climate change historic, adapt or stop change, carbon offset by china growth, expanded bailouts, lending std changed by fannie/freddie, unknown value and fear of subprime run, chavez link, treat enemies well and friends badly, sanctions fail NKorea nukes, iran elec 09 missed opp, lenin capitalism in advanced stage of crisis thus imperialism, same as Britain 20th century, omnipotence at home impotence abroad, nasa and muslims, poor least colonized, Ostatue down indonesia, toy soldier.
