About book The Rule Of Thoughts (2014)

An exciting and thrilling sequel to the semi-boring Eye of Minds. The Rule of Thoughts takes the world James Dashner has created and turns it on its head. I find that most sequels are bogged down with extreme world building, but The Rule of Thoughts does its world building in an unconventional way. Because Michael now has a human body, a lot of the story takes place in the Wake so it allows the reader to see the world outside the VirtNet that was described in the first novel. The first bit of the novel lagged a little, but once Michael was on the run it picked up its pace.Unlike with The Kill Order (prequel to The Maze Runner series), which I found to move extremely quickly with no time to comprehend the scenario between action sequences, The Rule of Thoughts has much better pacing and timing. There is enough time between heavy action sequences for the characters and reader alike to think about their previous actions and decide what to do next.I found the book pretty predictable, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. It made the reader question what it is to be human, to be real, and to wonder if everything is just a layer of dreams. Sort of like Inception. I will definitely be picking up the next novel when it comes out. The Rule of Thoughts is the next book in Jamesd Dashner's Mortality Doctrine series. It continues in a world where the line between humanity and computer intelligence is so blurred it makes the reader wonder and consider what they would do. An exciting action adventure, The Rule of Thoughts presents realistic characters. It makes the reader sympathize with the characters, something which many books fail to do. I enjoyed this book immensely because of its believability as well as the way this book made me think. Being a very moral book it blurs the line between right and wrong. I recommend this book for libraries or readers in middle school or above. This book is also very worthwhile for high school libraries as well. I can't wait for James Dasner's next book.

Dear,Mrs.Dudding Michael is one of the most important character and I’ll tell you why he is the good guy he is the hero,he is the one that fights bad guy, without him is like ice cream but without the Ice it would just be cream that, is why Michael is the most important character in the book and without him there would be no action in the book. Now Kaien is part of the book Kaien is the bad guy in the book he would kill anyone in his way.So that is why Kaien is in this book he is like 50 % of the book without him there would be no shocker no drama no sadness in this book and that is why Kaien is part of the book,So Michael and Kaien are the most important characters in this book. sinceraly:Lorenzo

Welp, Dashner did it again. What is with authors who break trust with their readers over and over again nowadays? Why do we bother reading if in the pursuit of "the ultimate twist," nothing we read is real or makes sense? It is beyond annoying. Why should I bother reading and investing time and energy in books that keep pulling the rug out from under me? Of course, I have to find out what happens, so I guess he wins again. But this is only because I am a Completist.

Boring....I was expecting more from this, since I loved his Maze Runner series.
