About book The San Francisco Earthquake, 1906 (2012)

I Survived was an ok book about a kid named Leo, his "annoying" friend Morris and two bullies named Wilkie and Fletch. Leo gets his gold stolen by the worst bullies in town and he tries to get it back. But soon he notices that he is in the middle of a gigantic earthquake. After all the bricks fell down from the building they were in Fletch left Wilkie under the ruin for him to die. When he gets out, Wilkie and Leo find Morris and save him from the fire but let Fletch die. They finally get out of San Francisco and go where they need to go. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves an exciting holiday read. I would also recommend the I Survived series. This was an ok read for me because in some parts of the book what Leo does sounds unreal and like something that no one can ever do. I really enjoy Lauren Tarshis books because in the back of every book, she has real facts and information about the real events that had taken place, plus information on resources in case the reader wanted to know more about the topic. A great read for male readers.
