About book The Secret Path (1995)

Oddly I was introduced to the books though the show. I saw some random episode once cas I was watching my little pony (I'm a brony deal with it) and the stone or like one of the more drama episodes came on I didn't think a lot about it but I did like it and did a little wiki searching on the show I fell in love with the description on the evil house (episode not book I didn't even know about the books at that point) it reminded me of my favorite episode of the also cancelled show my babysitter is a vampire (yes I am a young age so I am not wired for liking these show and books) the mask I think that was the name so I looked up the episode and lucky me it only took a website with adds you have to ignore but it didn't take me an hour to find so I could deal with it I loved the episode but sadly couldn't find more do blah blah blah over time I got to see every episode and even listen to the cometary of course like all shows that are good get canceled ::sigh:: then another blah blah blah I found the books and the fanfics so I bought the second book off of amazon yes the SECOND BOOK and I honesty recommend reading that one first the only part about the first book is the start so you can hear the story which is pretty easy to tell cas Cindy and Sally are just just GREAT they have the best dialog in the books other than watch sometimes I bet the show would have make it on longer if they had Cindy I love the books now and I'm not the biggest fan of the show to be honest it's just not the same after reading the awesome books. P.S Yes I am aware that there is only about two periods I the whole review but really I am not getting paid for writing this my hand hurts enough from typing on an iPad don't tell me am crazy your the one reading a review written by a sixth grader. Thank you if you got this far though it means a lot to me that people don't get bored reading this junk I write.

So even though I loved Pike's non-series books when I was younger, I had never heard of this series. That probably has something to do with the fact that I was too busy devouring Goosebumps and, later on, Fear Street books to really look for other horror series. But when a TV show was added to Netflix this past week, and it said it was based on a book series by Pike, I actually shrieked with joy! Super excited to see if it was worth my time. Well, I think these books are more for ages 9-12, at least if they're all like this one. But I've been enjoying the TV show a lot, it seems to be a less cheesy/dated version of "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" or "Goosebumps." Might read a couple more, just to see what happens next, & compare the differences between the book(s) and the show.

Do You like book The Secret Path (1995)?

THIS WHOLE SERIES MAKES UP MY CHILDHOOD. zOMGI think I started to love reading after I finished one Spooksville books to another. I was in 2nd grade. After a few years, I pretty forgot about this series. When I came back to it, I thought I might not like it as much as I did before because my reading tastes have really grown then. But nope! I re-read through them all and I still find myself falling in love with Sally's clever and often time funny witty retorts, Cindy's kind gentleness, and Watch's brilliance. These are the characters that have never truly left my side even as I grow up.I love Ann Templeton, I love how the books twist and turn questioning me whether she's a good or bad witch. I love the monsters, I love how Pike humanize them and let us see why they were *bad* in the first place.I love... simply everything about this series.

I discovered these books after my interest in Goosebumps was waning. I only read a few of them but they were definitely pretty well written and imaginative as these things go.The Secret Path itself is the first book, introducing Adam, a new resident of Springsville (or Spooksville as the kids who know better call it) to his two new friends Sally and Watch, and the crazy mysteries of the town which may or may not have many parallel Spooksvilles from alternate dimensions that blend into one another sometimes.Lastly I was excited to hear they were making an effort to make a children's TV show out of this - only to hear that it got cancelled.
