About book The Sisters Grimm (Book Nine): The Council Of Mirrors (2012)

I can’t believe our magical journey in Ferryport Landing is over! There are far more positive thing about how it all went down than negative. But I have gushed over this series for eight previous reviews so I am hoping Michael Buckley doesn’t feel too badly if he sees a couple negatives in this one. 1. What the heck happened with Granny in the end?? Wasn’t she immortal?? Sabrina did mention something about possibly “giving up her own immortality” to marry a non-Everafter. So am I to infer that Granny willing gave up her immortality to make blue food for Mr. Grimm in the afterlife???2. Puck and Sabrina - (sigh) the whole waiting till the last minute to fly in (quite literally) and let that special someone know you miss them, need them and don’t want them to get on that plane, or marry another….. OVER DONE!! Can’t stand it in movies and didn’t like it here either. 3. What exactly happened with Mirror? He relinquished Granny and then… turned to puddle and sunk into the earth??? So is he dead or is he going to take on some other form later??? I am soo grateful he wasn’t just violently killed or they all just forgave and forgot either. So it could have been worse, but it was still not perfect. What would have been perfect? I have no clue, and I wondered for several books how he would be punished for all the death and destruction he caused, even though he had every reason to covet freedom. 4. Maybe it was just my copy but there were TONS of misspelled words, misplaced commas and some words just left entirely out. Shame on the final editor for such blatant oversights. All that said, I LOVED this series and will eventually fill in the gaps in my collection to keep forever and read with my own lieblings. The finale of the Sisters Grimm series! I'll probably do another one with the spoilers but don't worry, no spoilers here!To start off, I'll like to say that the Sisters Grimm series is one of my favorite series. It's also the only story I can remember that has fairy tale characters but has them act modernly, while not knowing modern things, at least, not a lot. This series is an absolute must-read for fans of fairy tale spin-offs.Because this is the last book, I'll just talk about how I liked the plot and such. The romance between Puck and Sabrina got higher but also, in my opinion, awkwarder. It may be because the author is a male but it doesn't hide the fact that it was awkwarder. How exactly? It wasn't like awkward kisses that didn't make sense but it's more like Puck's acceptance of them marrying I guess. To me, a fangirl through and through, I felt liked he (the author) could have notched up it a bit. It may be because I was reading fanfiction recently, but I was hoping for some random male, young, fairy tale character to appear and flirt with Sabrina or vice a versa with a young female person with Puck. Having one of them dealing with their hate-hate relationship and you know, trying to stop Mirror from escaping. That's not to say that they have a perfect relationship, but Buckley does a good job of showing teens' feelings for each other in this age stage. (I'm a teenager myself but whatevs)At some times, the plot does go a little bland but other moments make up for that. There are some other relationships that show, but obviously Puckabrina are the main couple that is shown (you know, the POV being one of the couple puts things into perspective).I obviously recommend this ONLY if you read the other books. If you haven't go and start with the first book RIGHT NOW. :)
