Good for Pratchett fans. Book 2 in a funny middle grades fantasy series, perfect for a readers who enjoy a bit of Douglas Adams-style absurdity. Set in the Ununited Kingdoms, filled with characters like The King's Useless Brother and the Mysterious X (who is either an actual person or just a mist that can put thoughts in your mind). The main character is a sensible and quick-witted girl who manages a group of magicians and these books tend to appeal particularly to girls, though boys in my school enjoy them, too, especially their sense of humor.
