For me, this book was just okay and kind of cute. Although it did seem like the author wasn't very comfortable writing romance and would rather have been writing something else. However, I do have to say that the storyline kept me interested and reading on. Another thing about this book (and it's not a bad thing but I prefer more heat myself) is that there is only one token sex scene and it was clear that the author was uncomfortable writing it and would have rather stuck with just writing kissing scenes. But this is a great book for someone looking for a light romance with a clean theme. Maybe for young girls just starting to read romance. Probably wouldn't read something by this author again unless I was out of things to read. "The Unexpected Duchess" was a fun, lively read with plenty of amusing banter between the characters. Lucy and Derek are perfect for each other and everyone knows this far sooner than they are ready to admit to it themselves. That doesn't stop the sparks from flying, though!The other characters in the book are interesting and I hope to see several of them get their own books in the future.
Well written bur I disliked the first 3rd of the book, because the heroine was very obnoxious to me.
