I've read better, I've read worse. I get sick of the unrealistic male characters Davidson employs in this series, and I think their perfection detracts from all of her books. Julian and Tom are too much. I find myself groaning as they prepare one culinary masterpiece after another and dutifully worship Goldie. Now that Goldie has a baby, I half expect Davidson will have these two share the breastfeeding duties with her. If I hadn't been stuck in hotels so much of the week, I wouldn't have wasted my time finishing this one. I agree with many other reviewers. Her books have been getting less and less fun and interesting. This one, tho, takes the cake. First, I want to know why both Goldy and Marla are not hugely overweight? And always injury after injury it seems, to Goldy. It's just not fun any more. I am thinking now tho, with this ending in this particular book, that the author is just out of ideas. This new development does not appeal to me and I do not see how it would make any future books better. Perhaps even more cumbersome and impossible, but definitely not more fun or better. I've previously enjoyed the romps. But this...it's what TV series do when they don't know what else to do and the series generally poops out after that season.I think this is the last one for me, which is too bad.

Average book in the series. I have read a few of Diane's book and this one is my least favorite.
