About book Thirst No. 5: The Sacred Veil (2013)

WHAT WHAT WHAT was that ending? Cliff hanger for a book that's suppose to be the final volume of Sita's life? Darn you Pike for being so amazing and addicting. If their is more to Sitas story after this novel I will be buying those books.I said it in my update that its been a while since I had read the first four books in this series, so I was hesitant in picking up the fifth book, because I felt like since it had been so long I wasn't going to be into it. But boy was I wrong. The first chapter reeled me back in to Sita's story and everything that happened in the previous novels came back to my mind and I was just enjoying the story. I can honestly say that their wasn't one moment while reading this story when I became bored or impatient to finish just to finish. I enjoyed every moment and gosh Pike is so great at building up the action and his characters, even the ones that are unimportant, we get to know them so well!So glad I finally decided to pick up this book this month and get back into this series. Pike is just great....just go and read this book. OK. To me Last Vampire books end with Creatures of Forever. This is just a commercial attempt. That being said, despite being ready to hate this imitation of Last Vampire, I loved it. I still connected with Sita, my all time favorite female protagonist. However I will no longer rank her as highly anymore because i have discovered she is very selfish and does not like using her brains until things have turned to S**t. Pike still managed to jazz me with new enemies (even though forced) and interesting and nerve wrecking pasts.Of course I do like the religious angle, always.I was highly disappointed by John, the mystery child. After all that in Phantom and Evil thirst, Pike owed us big time.
