Okay. I read this along with another book in just one day. That being said, I really enjoyed this book. It was pretty predictable. I knew exactly who Alice was going to end up with when I was only a little bit into the book. But I still enjoyed reading this book. I liked how the author portrayed that LDS people aren't perfect, that we all make mistakes. And yes, I'm LDS so I'm not bashing on LDS people! I just enjoyed how this was not a story of everything's perfect in life and that everything works out perfectly because that rarely ever happens. This may be borderline too-corny, but I just love novels like this! I'll have to give credit to a friend of mine for introducing me to Mormon pop culture, but as far as the introduction has served me, I'm now hooked! (Probably because it's just so easy to put yourself in the character's shoes). Anyway, my favorite part is always right before the proposal, when everything is going wrong. And there she is, on her knees, wondering why everything has to be so confusing and hard and she's completely unaware that her greatest dreams are about to come true. I know it's really sappy, but books like this give me hope for myself. To be more spiritual, to actually read my scriptures and to be more diligent in my prayers. And maybe if I'm really lucky, I'll have a story like one of the heroines in these books. And maybe if I'm really lucky, I'll not have to imagine myself in front of those parallel mirrors, but actually be there. For time and eternity. :)
