Sarah's Key, the debut novel of Tatiana de Rosnay, was an amazing book. I LOVED it. When I saw that a newer book of hers was available to download and listen to I thought I was pretty darn lucky.I feel terrible saying this, but I think I know why the audio was available to download. I think that might be part of the problem with my feelings about this book. It seems that the book is one continuous story that goes back and forth in time with no clear definition of when you are in the past or the present.My other issue with this book was the narcissistic personality of the main character. What a prick. Could not stand the main character and in fact, I still don't even understand entirely what the story was about. I was waiting for it to all come together and it fell flat. I'm extremely disappointed in this book. First thought upon finishing this book, "Wow, that was dreadful." That sums it up. I should have given up right away, but I had nothing else to read so I was desperate. I've enjoyed some of her other books but this one was was not enjoyable -- I didn't like the writing style; the main character, Nicholas, was such an unlikeable, insufferable character that nothing could have saved this. And on to Tana French's new novel, which is wonderful already just one chapter in.
Do You like book Tinta Rusa (2013)?
Doesn't hold a candle to Sarah's Key. The protagonist is highly unlikeable.
