About book Towering (2013)

It was good, but i'm not a big fan of insta love books, but the romance was sweet. The story plot was interesting and it had a decent mystery aspect, so I was pretty excited to see how it would end, but I was fairly dissapointed with how simply it ended. And When the ending with Wyatt happened, it was pretty clear it would be a "everyone walks away happy" Kind of book, and the only sad part was about Rachel's mother, They clearly state several times before the end that she's dead, and you know she is, but there's always hope that she's just been hiding out for 17 years so she's not found by the bad guys. So when it became official in the last chapter, it was so... normal. I know it had been 18 years and everyone had been expecting it, but cleaning out Danielle's room was just so simple like it wasn't a big deal at all. When the big climatic scene was over with in the cave room, everyone just walked off and left. Even the main bad guys... so... What? Shouldn't it have been harder to win with this? It was a cute story, nicely captivating, but not really a book that would make you go "WOW! I want to read that again"! But like I said, it was a good story and nicely written and she did the different perspectives very well. You can tell she really developed her characters and thought them through before even beginning to write the book. Would I recommend the book? Yes, only if you love story remakes, especially Rapunzel. You have to have a serious love for Rapunzel and LOVE nice sweet quick romance books to truly love and fully enjoy this book (Which I did). If your not that into retelings and your not that into romance, and your just looking for a book to read to pass the time, I would be hesitant to recommend it to you just because its a very good book and I wouldn't want you to think it was just decent or not like it at all and think it was a waste of time because this book is not, it could just use some help with the plot. Like I said, for serious Rapunzel/Romance loving people. Semi for people who want a nice quick read and want to like the book. Do You like book Towering (2013)?

I think I lost some brain cells trying to force myself to the finish line. What happened to the author I once admired? You write a bestseller and then quit trying? I have to point out the author note at the back of the book, where Flinn says, "Rapunzel was one of my favorite fairy tales when I was a child (long before it was a Disney movie--people, Disney did not write these stories!" Correct. So...why are you ripping off a Disney movie? It was a mesh-mash of ideas, all puddled together and thoroughly unsatisfying.

Beginning was real slow. Didn't really love the ending. Still chewing on this book.
