About book UnEnchanted (2011)

It's not the most eloquent book, nor do I think it will it be winning any major prizes. I didn't catch as many grammar mistakes, but I have a fairly laid-back tolerance for editing errors, especially if I find the read pleasant. But I found it to be a very pleasant "fluff" read: the story compelling, the intrigue... intriguing, and the characters were just fun for me. It's rather mindless so don't read this expecting to be intellectually stimulated. I really enjoyed reading about the characters and their cute little interactions. Is that a weird thing to say? I don't care. Scenes that got too into the "high school" interactions made me feel as if I were watching little teenage ants on an ant farm. Most character interactions felt like that, sometimes even those between Mina and her mom (for an "overprotective" mom she sure gives her daughter a convenient boatload of freedom, but I softened to her character over time)The book was short, I read it in about 3 hours - my AM commute, lunch, and the evening commute. I loved this book as a low commitment, stress-free break from my sometimes hectic reality. I've already purchased the second book and am finding it to be a similarly pleasant fluff read (the first was a free nook book) I read this book in a matter of hours, then re-read it again. This story is brilliant, the whole series is brilliant! What if you were a lonely looser, always had been, always will be, then one day, your life changes. You save the life of the hottest guy in school, and if only to ruin the happiness of that moment, you also find out that you are the descendant of the Brother's Grimm. Yes, THEE brothers Grimm, as in the Fair Tale buffs. Cool, right? Not so much. See, all those stories are true. Dragons, Fae, Talking Animals, it's all real. Not only that, but along with that impressive linage you've inherited a curse that makes all these awesome fairy creatures want to kill you. What is the curse? To complete the story.

A cute plot of fairytales and fantasy. Definitely a young Adult book but fun just the same
