About book Valley Of Dreams (2011)

I could right the same review for almost all of Lauraine Snelling's books... I **LOVE** them! :-) She is one of my favorite Christian Fiction writers. Of course this new series is wonderful! I was sucked in and held captive from almost the first page.We follow Cassie from her life as the star of a wild west show to suddenly finding she is utterly alone in the world and without a livelihood! What will she do now? You can feel her confusion and her utter despair. It's tangible! Of course there are those you meet and come to adore as she sets out on what will be the journey of her life. You will laugh, you will sniffle a bit.It is amazing to me that I find myself relating to this character, as I do most of them in Lauraine Snellin's books. I have never been in a wild west show, unless you count playing with my children! LOL! I have never been orphaned in this world, and yet I can relate. I find myself nodding my head as I read through the story. I find myself aching with despair, loneliness... I am relating to this character, because she is so human! :-) Well done, Ms. Snelling! Well done, as usual! This is the first in a terrific series and I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 books that I have read so far! :-)Go, read them, enjoy! :-)XXOO~HopeWhat Goodreads.com says:Exciting New Series by Beloved Author Lauraine SnellingCassie Lockwood's mother died when she was little, so Cassie traveled with her father's Wild West Show and became an amazingly skillful trick rider, likened by some to the famous Annie Oakley. When her father died, she continued to work with the show, having nowhere else to go.Now Cassie has discovered that "Uncle" Jason, the show's manager, has driven the show into debt, and he's absconded with what little money was left. Devastated, Cassie decides to try to find the hidden valley where here father had dreamed of putting down roots. She has only one clue. She needs to find three huge stones that look like fingers raised in a giant hand. With Chief, a Sioux Indian who's been with the show for twenty years, and Micah, the head wrangler, she leaves both the show and a bundle of heartache behind and begins a wild and daring adventure. I did not like this book at all. It was very boring and didn't have much of a story. It was basically about Cassie, Chief, and Micah trying to get to the Valley that her father had talked about. The only danger that came their way was a man that threatened them and stole all of Cassie's money. But then, Cassie went into town to get the sherriff and he found the man that robbed them and the man politely gave it back. I'm going to read the 2nd book to this series just because I think it will have a better story. Hopefully the next book won't disappoint me like this one did.
