I thought this was a great read. Gripping and powerful. I enjoyed the combination of historical information regarding New Orleans and its culture, with the depth of characters and tangly webs embedded in various story lines (which did not overpower one another). A little bit of steamy romance, scandal, and crime all in one! Job well done. This was my first Erica Spindler book but I am totally planning for more. It took me a while to start reading it 'cause I usually like to read series in their right order but I give it a shot anyway and was surprisingly please. I liked the characters and the plot. That was a book that kept me questioning myself about almost every characters 'till the end. Well done Spindler ! Oh and btw no need for you to read the other books of the serie to understand this one. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
