About book White Dusk (2011)

Continuing with the Susan Edwards' "White Series", the next book is "White Dusk". We are first introduced to Swift Foot in "White Dawn" and this is his story and fate after we say good-bye to him in the first book. One of the things I enjoyed about this book was the hint at a parnormal twist; the Native Americans have a very rich culture that is focused on their varying deities as well as nature itself. Something that I learned a little about recently in a mythology class I took. It was interesting to see, not only the research that went into these mythologies, but expanding on it by hinting at the possibility that both Swift Foot and Small Bird have a deeper connection to the elements around them. The love story that we embark on is both heartbreaking and joyous. There are actually two love stories in this book, the main story between Swift Foot and Small Bird and a smaller love story with Small Bird's brother and Swift Foot's cousin. Both are well-written and believable; they really make you root for both couples to find their happily ever after. If you read "White Dawn" and enjoyed it, you will most definitely enjoy "White Dusk" as well. I look forward to reading the next in the series. If it lives up to the quality of the first two, I'm sure I won't be disappointed.

My Review:Danger and intrigue, a determined woman and reluctant groom ~ what more could a reader ask from a book? White Dusk kept me entertained from start to finish. I could not put the book down and ended up staying up way past my bedtime to finish it. I loved how Small Bird is determined to do what is right even when her girlhood dreams seem to be shattering around her. She is a wonderful girl full of character, determination and honor. I love reading books with a strong female lead as well as male. I am looking forward to continuing the saga. Although the book White Shadows (book 3) is technically next, I will be reading White Wind (book 4) since it is next chronologically.
